11 year old me at the museum, looking at a marble statue of a nude woman.  I love looking at nude wimmens, and I got to do it without getting trouble. 
My junior-high-school librarian probably knew why I haunted the magazine section.

It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas).
