Offensive: what is and what isn't ?

RE: Offensive: what is and what isn't ?
I always give my motorbikes a female persona, riding around on a boy is just WRONG!!!!

I'm pretty sure that Star Wars is one of the first movies where the heroine did more that just faint at the first sight of danger. Princess Leia actually grabs the gun off Solo and starts shooting people.

Has this person actually SEEN the movie?

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Offensive is whatever offends. Nothing is actually intrinsically offensive.

Something can only offend you IF YOU allow it to.... otherwise it's just is more verbal garbage and can be ignored.

Indeed. I'm starting to think that all insults take the form of an accusation. For example, "You're an idiot" means "I'm accusing you of being an idiot", which means such a thing is either true or false and you either let that true or false accusation bother you or not.

I have also found (over the years) that people will accuse YOU of the misdemeanours and failures they recognise but will not admit to in themselves....by use of insults devised to make you feel inferior and them superior...basic human behaviour by basic humans....

It is fun to get into an insult slinging match with a friend.... but then it is not intended to be serious and so does not offend. As has been stated before...

A good aphorism but not necessarily true.

I try to minimize all insults.

That is because you have no need to rely on them to win an argument??

I also try to minimize them because I don't like stirring up shit or hurting people's feelings unnecessarily.

I thoroughly study most of your arguements of interest, and use your own techniques against you and add it to my vast knowledge base.
