The Righteous and the Woke

RE: The Righteous and the Woke
I think that the point that the "woke" movement is making is that no one is really woke. We're confusing mixed bags of good and bad, very prone to tribalistic thinking (and thereby groupthink and prejudices and stereotypes of the "other") while generally also aspiring to be fair and just to others. But in order to achieve the good, one must first be ready to acknowledge the bad.

It’s certainly a good point, but something tells me that if this was the main point behind the Woke, they’d be a bit less happy to try and “cancel” people whose actions have displeased the proverbial Internet hive mind.

Honestly, from what I’ve been able to gather, it seems like the old debate over survival values vs. self-expression values, specifically otherwise left-leaning people taking a hard turn towards survival values.

I think every generation has a woke moment.
And that generation thinks it's more woke than any generation before them.
And that generation thinks it will be smarter as old people than the old people now.
And they never ever have anything new to say.
