Perhaps it is a long term strategy to embed and reinforce second thoughts in the minds of  business owning interests when again they are confronted with what at first appears To be an opportunities to further their own wealth by supporting otherwise controversial administration whose policies serve to directly enlarge the wealth gap.

It's a series of tubes...

And my only beef with stuff like this is I'm not sure boycotts really do anything.

Chick-fil-A sales have skyrocketed... as did Nike's when they had their controversy.

Though, I suppose for many, doing something is better than doing nothing.

Dicks didn't go out of business for ending spray weapons sales.

Yeah, not sure 'strategy' is the right word here, unless there's a new definition of which I'm unaware.  Something like, 'strategy (n): poorly thought out knee jerk reaction to old news'.

Sounds like arguing firearms, "Dicks stopping sales of certain types won't stop others from selling them"..... True, so don't do anything at all?

I am sure you have the perfect solution yourself.

If I had a solution, I'd be elected King.

But I'm not asking you for a solution.  I'm asking you what your boycott of this beer is supposed to accomplish.  If you don't want to buy the beer because the owner of the company is a Trump guy, that's fine.  If not buying his beer makes you feel better about yourself, that's even better.

But you started your boycott almost three years after David Yuengling said he supported Trump. At this point, what result do you expect?

These are only two examples, and I'd be interested to know the sources the writers used to make these claims... however, if there's any truth to the articles, then it might be worth considering that boycotts don't actually do anything. I mean, this isn't 1895 where if you get a bad rep in the town your ye olde shoppe is in, you're fucked. This is 2019 - the game has changed considerably for a multitude of obvious reasons.

Then again, we have situations like with Papa Johns, where their sales were hurt following controversy.

At the very least, I think we can assume that boycotts are not a consistent method to use in terms of "hurting" the business. If you claim that you don't care about hurting the business, but rather you wish to simply stop supporting them, then it may be best to do so silently.
