Are You A Joiner?

Are You A Joiner?
At breakfast, herself and I were making plans for the upcoming week.  It was a bit of a muddle, as we had to schedule around four of her club meetings and four of mine.  She's got garden club, krav maga, women business owners and The Northland Ladies' Sewing Circle And Terrorist Guild.  I've got two rugby coaching sessions, teaching a night class, and a poker tournament.

What clubs are you a member of?  Does it make scheduling personal time a chore?

He'd never survive a rugby match.  Unless he kept that big fucking club with him, I mean.  The club would be a definite advantage.

I started a group now called the Freethought Society of the Midlands (FSM), we get together for discussion or/and dinner most weeks. I used to be an active Unitarian Universalist. I have lunch with friends from there almost every Sunday afternoon. I do tabletop roleplaying games probably too much (one on Tuesday, one on Saturday, and one on Sunday after that lunch I mentioned).

Granted, many years ago I made a commitment to be more social.

I'm a loner. I belong to zero clubs. I don't think I've ever really belonged to a club.

Maybe you could find enough other people who don't belong to clubs and club up.  Smile

I've certainly considered clubs at times, but I find so many interests that are really solo endeavors that it is hard to find time for group activities. I am really considering a hiking group, though. Tibs Dad does it, and they really enjoy it.

Nope...no clubs. No interest really. I entertain myself quite well and don't feel the need for scheduled social occasions.

When my kids were young and in scouts and sports and such I volunteered for a lot of activities parents were needed to do. I was Girl Scout cookie mom a couple years, I was secretary/treasurer for a Boy Scout troop, I served a lot of 'bad for you' food and drink at baseball and football games, and helping with fund raisers. I was always willing to sign up and help out along with the other moms and dads. That was pretty much the end of my group activities.

My pack consists of three dogs, a cat, and two parrots...and I'm good with that.

Not really, but I did volunteer as a leader when my sons were in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, for a total of 15 years Since I retired, I am a member of a local wood carving club that meets at the senior center one morning a week. I'm the youngest member. It feels like I'm hanging out with my parent's friends, and fuxxake, most of them love the chumpDodgy
