Um no, this is very American, and totally 80s TV.

It would be prior to dying hard, and having a second job at night for a future famous actor.

It started out as a big screen movie, which I never liked, but ended up a short lived Si Fi Tv show, which I love. I can't say anything more. I did give you two characters in prior my prior posts.
No "drug" involved, but salt water was deadly to them(the aliens), and they drank sour milk.
