I think my parable of the dog begging at the dinner table has become more relevant now that it’s become abundantly clear that our only two options are the guy who’ll give the dog some potato peelings and those who abuse the dog when it wants to be fed.

I think it's getting close to the point where the starving dog needs to just eat the owner, and find food elsewhere. Because we're all dying otherwise.

Maybe Bernie dropped out because it is complicated to vote now and for months to come, and since Biden seems to be likely winner, he decided to spare people from torment of crowding.
Or maybe it's because George Conway maxed the donation limit to Biden and gave him the needed boost.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I do recall, Obama gave us scraps, and now it's all gone. What good did he do, that Trump didn't ruin in four years anyway?

8 years of reprieve from a Republican presidency?

That's not enough to stop the inevitable upheaval that's bound to happen sooner or later.

BernieorBust is the kind of mentality that terrifies me. I understand it, especially since I know several Bernie supporters who campaigned and worked so hard for Bernie, and now are being asked to vote for someone whose platform doesn't include / goes against several of the most important parts of Bernie's platform that appealed to them. But this is exactly the kind of mentality that may lead to four more years of Trump...
I get that Biden isn't gonna appeal to a lot of Bernie supporters. But I refuse to accept that people who give it even a minute of thought cannot see that Biden would be better than Trump by several orders of magnitude, if not because of who he is as a person, then because of his awareness of who his supporters are. BernieOrBust is basically a childlike stubbornness emerging out of hurt and a feeling that the world is against them.

For what it's worth, Innuendo Studios recently released the latest video in the Alt-Right playbook, and it's alarmingly relevant to Bernie ending his campaign:
And this is probably the first video where he really dwells on how problematic this attitude can be not only for the right-wingers, but the leftists who (at least in this way) think a bit like them, starting 10:30. I mean, sure, previously, he made token points about there being some leftists who use the same sort of rhetorical tricks as the alt-right, but he did tend to downplay their significance.

We're going to get four more years of Trump either way. I am just too disgusted to throw any support behind people who don't support me at all. Honestly, we should all be boycotting everything. The only way they'll listen is if we refuse to play their game at all. Hold the election and economy hostage to get them to start working for us, instead of fleecing us like sheep. Sooner or later it's going to get bad enough that we won't have any other choice. If enough people die, or leave the country, there won't be an economy left, because republicans are trying hard to not let anyone new into the country.
We literally have a virus ripping through the country, and they're talking about a hundred thousand deaths or more, yet they're flooding corporations with money and telling people to go back to work.

You do know that boycotts are one of the least effective means of protest, right?
