A better mousetrap?

A better mousetrap?
For Covid19?

It occurs to me that it shouldn't be to hard to come up with something better than a homemade surgical mask for airborne viruses.

How about a low cost "moon suit"?

Idea - use a lithium ion battery - USB cord chargable - drawing air through a chest mounted filter - with a computer fan - which would inflate a plastic bag over the head?

The trick would be getting enough airflow that CO2 buildup would not be a problem. While shortening use time (of not using a regulated on demand system) the simplicity of the unit would make them much more affordable - easily under $100.

The filter would have to be foam - or other material - that could be washed out with disinfectant, dried, then re-used. A spray of some sort - would be good to make the virus stick better to the filter.

You would make the most money on the filter treating spray.

Just name it after me..

I imagine you could overcome the CO2 issue with some sort of a soda lime canister.

Quite frankly, though, the whole thing doesn't really fill a need that’s not already answered by existing respirators.

Any CO2 absorbtion system would add bulk and cost.

Can you currently buy a respirator that fully covers your face - even with glasses - that does not fog up in use - for under $100?

This is a go-between between a costly full face respirator and a bandanna...

It doesn't have pressurization from a filtered fan, though. But then, there are more soldiers where those came from.  Hehe

Those floppy things on their feet didn't look comfortable in the produce section.
