To me it was the MASH of the 21st century.

There was not a single bad character on the show.  It surprised people by covering truly devastating issues in original ways (I loved the episodes with Brendan Fraser as Dr Cox's friend and the way the show handled his death.  Or the episode where Dr Cox was broken when so many patients died?  Fucking brilliant.).

The only other American comedy that had some originality was "Don't trust the bitch in apartment 12" or whatever the apartment number was.

Pretty much cancelled in the first season.

I have never watched Scrubs...I may have to see if I can find it streaming somewhere.

I am pretty sure I have seen every episode of M*A*S*H at least a half dozen times.  I even have the box set that includes the movie.  The box set it nice because it contains episodes that have been skipped over in syndication due to the topic at hand.  In my opinion, one of the best shows ever.

Almost all other are far too formulaic for my taste.  The only other one that was really worth watching lasted about half a season.

Long time since Scrubs, really long, I used to watch it in my teenage years but I still remember that one sentence from the intro song: "I'm no superman". But it wasn't even close to Friends TBH.

As for Jennifer Anniston...I have been so bored with her from the beginning of the show.  I don't care about her haircut, she's a shit actress in everything I've seen her in, I don't care that Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie...I would leave her for Angelina Jolie.  All these years and we still get updates on how poor Jennifer's love life is going.  Oh, and she and Brad Pitt are still very close.  Don't care.

Seinfeld and Frasier were the most boring shows I ever saw.

As for "Rachel's character"; it is only funny when the whole combination of the show is at work. All of Friend's stars are boring as individuals, the magic only happens when they're together in a scenario that involves them all.

That’s how I feel about celebrities generally - I don’t know these people, I’ll never know these people, so why should I get all fatootzed over their personal problems?

Yes they only worth a damn when they act; really.
The interest must be in the roles they play; not them.

Ew Monica sucks.

They felt "real". That's what gave Friends its glory in my opinion.

For me, the most annoying character in the show is fucking whiner Ross. God, he even annoyed Janice (one of the best secondary characters in the show, btw) with his constant whining. Seems like though he has been doing less whining in the current season I'm watching.

My favorite "Friends" moment was even on "Friends", it was on "Mad About You."

Paul and Jamie are ordering a meal and Phoebe is dutifully jotting it down.
Paul says "A chef salad and a ribeye steak please."
Phoebe nods and says
"How do you want that?"
"Well done."
Phoebe makes a note and starts to walk away.
Paul suddenly realizes who he's dealing with.
"The steak, not the salad!"
Phoebe looks disgruntled and scratches out a line on her order pad.

I think that was Ursula, not Phoebe.
