It reminds me of a friend who once told me she was boycotting ivory to help save the elephants. I asked her how much ivory she normally bought in a year. She said, ‘None.’

The letters don't state my political affiliation only that I'm a constituent so there is no way for the Senator to know if I would normally support them or not.

Ok, that makes more sense.

I am hesitant when it comes to sending out a text to a supposed political entity. I am already robo-called, emailed, sent texts regarding the upcoming election to the point where I am thinking of driving back and forth over my phone several times in an attempt to make it stop.

One actual human called and when she stated she was a volunteer for the Republican party, all I could do was laugh and hang up.

Facepalm

See what you get from a generation who recieved "participation trophies"?

It's weird, it's almost like this is supposed to be the modern equivalent to the increasingly dying art of having lots of people sending lots of letters to your representatives or senators to sway them to your side or something.

Honestly, the big criticism I have with it is that it hinges on the assumption that you can change their minds on an issue. These days, with politicians being so polarized, and the President having so lawless, and the Republican Party doing little more than sucking his dick, this is exceedingly rare.

Democrats should start playing poker too, and not reveal their cards, just to keep the Republicans on their toes.
