ID is horrible.. But the thing is, to a person, who has never been taught to think critically, those ID books look legit. To teach that man and dinosaurs actually were on this planet at the same time, that Earth is only a few thousand years old. Idiots.. I'd just as well like to see it taught in schools that Terry Pratchett's Discworld is the truth. A flat world riding on four elephants and a turtle or that man-made deity created Earth in six days. Both seem utterly implausible, and both are based on what we find in books, written by men who came up with these stories.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. They see nothing wrong with this, but they must be too stupid to see that it opens the door for a Muslim teacher to have his class bow to Mecca and worship Allah. Of course they'd never allow that. I think a funny scenario would be to ask Christians, "Do you want prayer in school?" When they answer in the affirmative, then say, "OK, we'll have teachers read from the Satanic bible."

To teach fiction as science is ridiculous.
ID should be taught in RE not a science class as there is nothing scientific about it. I am happy to let a child learn about their religion and practice it as long as they do not disrupt learning of anyone else. Cunt
