RE: Let's fill Biden's cabinet.
I would recommend filling Biden's cabinet with the finest liquor.

Oh wait, were we talking about something else?

I'd like to see Andrew Yang as Secretary of Labor.
NdT is not an educator in the traditional sense - but the man has taught more Americans about astrophysics than any college professor you can name. He isn't just a teacher,  he is an inspiration...

Inspiration is all well and good, but the function of a cabinet secretary is to manage their department. I’m not sure Tyson has the requisite managerial experience. Being a pop culture icon doesn’t quite fill the bill.

A better candidate would be someone who has spent several years managing a large school district.

Not necessarily, no. While a background as an educator might be useful, I don’t think it should be a requirement.

"Soylent Green?"

Well, I wasn't thinking anything that high end there. Maybe just a food truck near a construction site.

We need to wait until people stop mentioning T.rump in the same breath for that. A nice 40 yo MacAllan shouldn't be near T.rump in any fashion.

Not even as an accelerant?

$14,000 a quart for an accelerant. I'll get back to you on that.

If you can guarantee that it’ll be used to set him on fire, I’ll pay.

I disagree. Cabinet level secretaries are not administrators. Cabinet level departments already have established bureaucracies staffed with seasoned professional administrators. The department of education has more than 100 ES level positions, and more than 1500 GS-14/15 positions. Those are the administrators. The Cabinet Secretary and the additional 20ish EX level positions at the department of education are policy influencers/setters.

What the department of education needs right now is a strong advocate for public education. Someone to steer us away from standardized testing, choice vouchers, and funding for-profit charter schools with little financial transparency. Not another administrator.
