Advent Time

RE: Advent Time
Here in Germany  it is like this: Advent is maybe 5 percent religion and about 95 percent culture and traditions.
Methinks some here are fighting against windmills.

Ah - that explains it.
That's where your fanatical hatred comes from.
You will have to work on that.

In our region there are no special schools for Catholics or Protestants.
We have done away with that kind of separation or segregation long ago.

It must be very backward regions, where that segregation still exists.
..

‘Fanatical hatred’? Can you be more specific?

Our schools weren’t segregated, except by geography.

Why does me knowing what Advent is and declining to celebrate it give you leave to be such a twat?

And those cultures and traditions are religion-based, your denials notwithstanding. Regardless of how you chose to celebrate it, Advent IS a religious observance.

Well, then you are more Christian than the Christians.
A funny sort of atheist.

RE: Advent Time
Many of us came out of religious backgrounds.

No shit Advent is not Lent. Thanks for clarifying that. My years of Catholic school must have been lacking for me not to have learned that little tidbit of worthless information.

No, I’m just informed enough to know that you happen to be wrong about this. But no matter - how you chose to spend Advent is your business. Do what makes you happy.

Quick question, though - does your Adventskranz have five candles or just four?
