Incorrect Song Lyrics

Here is your chance to share with us the song lyrics you always got consistently wrong in songs.
It doesn't matter what your age was, but you can also share lyrics you deliberately changed.
My thread, I'll start first:
I always tbought, until my early teens, that Glen Campbell was getting "awfuls" over the phone.
Don't ask me why.
My mother was always listening to country music, Glen Campbell, Marty Robbins, that guy who liked rocky mountains so much he crashed his plane into one.
That could be why I dislike the genre so much.
Though it did give me an appreciation for Dolly, Kenny Rogers, and Juice Newton.

When I first heard this song, I could have sworn Adam Duritz sang “put up a fucking lie” instead of “put up a parking lot.”
And is it strange that I think this actually works better?

One of my sons was at a Deep Purple concert last year, or maybe '19. Some people next to him were singing,
"Smoke on the water,
And lions in the sky..."
People were looking at them,
Flaming lions, I guess?

When I was 14 I was listening to Rush, "2112" really loud in my room. My mom barged in and screamed at me to turn off that devil music.
She thought she had heard, "We are the priests of the temples of satan"
Actual lyric, "We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx"
It took a while for me to explain that it was a science fiction story and these were made up names.
Why is it so?
