My mother is a professional singer since before I was born. Somebody put one of her old songs on Youtube and it just blew my mind to hear it again for the first time in 45 years.
I know I've had my differences with my mother, but if you just listen to it you'll understand why I'm near to tears. Imagine a little girl 7 or 8 years old leaning over a stereo player hearing her mother's voice wafting out of the speakers like Aretha Franklin or Freda Payne.
Then ask yourself how I could have heard my mother singing these lyrics in my formative years and grown up to be anything but an atheist.
