My screen saver rotates through pictures by a cartoonist I love, pics of the dogs, owls, meerkats, and any other photo I find interesting...btw, I swiped the one you posted to add to my rotation.

I never see my desktop, so I don't worry about it much. In spite of that, I have a collection of sets of wallpaper to rotate likewise. It's currently set to display photos of cityscapes.

As for screensavers, I normally don't use them. This is a new install and is currently using one of the default screensavers. I suppose I could use some of the other wallpaper for that.

(Actually, now that I think about it, I do see my desktop. My big screen TV is hooked up to the computer and often shows just the desktop. I've switched recently to using my Roku and set-top boxes more.)
