Putsch It Real Good.

RE: Putsch It Real Good.
Do you not even care, that that word I was referring to the white asshole insurrectionists who were shouting that word at black Capital Hill police during the entire event? Not using that very ugly word, which it is, and nobody is arguing it isn't, does not change that it was used. You cannot go into the Holocaust Museum in DC and not see Nazi symbols. Don't try to argue with me, that because those symbols exist in the Holocaust Museum that Jews hate themselves. Goodman was shouted at along with other black cops that word. The poem was not promoting use of it, anymore than a Nazi symbol in the Holocaust Museum was saying "hate Jews".

I am not trying to create waves, especially on this topic. I know I am a pain in the ass. I only incorporated that word because it is an unfortunate part of history. A very ugly, but real history. No different than the ugly fact that many slave ships, in rough weather, would dump their cargo, black slaves, over the side to save other cargo. I fucking hate that reality, but it was.

It isn't a matter of getting over anything. Goodman on the 6th of January last month, endured the wrath of asshole Trumpists, bigots and assholes who used that word. He did is job, and saved congress people, regardless of party.

I am damned sure anyone reading this, would want someone like him protecting us, and that was the point of the poem.

I'll try one more time.

No, you weren't promoting it, and I couldn't imagine you doing such a thing. The action I took had nothing to do with the historical, repugnant context of the word. It's simply a word we don't allow to be used here, and you used it repeatedly after being told and then warned not to do so.

It's nothing to do with your message, which I agree with (the meaning of it, if not the way you expressed it), it has to do with the use of the word itself. For example, it you were to - in all innocence and no malice intended - quote a passage from 'Huckleberry Finn' or 'The Voyages Of Doctor Doolittle' or 'To Kill A Mockingbird' containing that word, the result would have been the same.

I hope this clears it up.

I honestly don't see why this is open for debate.

The rules clearly state that the word is not to be used. In ANY context.

If a new person signed in and used it they would be banned. It's been used in this thread three times.

Consider that we're being lenient because you're a longtime member in good standing, and leave it at that.

And try not to push it any more.

Dude, this is probably a case where asterisks (as specified in the rule Brian possibly-inadvertently broke) are your friend. Or maybe a long dash between the first and last letters, which is what I like to do to give a sense of class to my redactions. I know it can be frustrating to have to blunt your artwork’s effect for the sensibilities of the readers, but those are the rules.

I am fairly sure you don't inadvertently break a rule when you do the same thing again after being told you broke a rule.

He argued by repeating the banned word...which had nothing to do with art.

As to your question, the answer is yes he did.

The inadvertent part specifically referred to the first time. The other two times when he brought it up to defend his original use, that clearly wasn't.

Clearly, the first one was inadvertent, which is why no action was taken beyond deleting the word in question.

37 is a very lucky fellow.
