Countdown to the next username change
RE: Countdown to the next username change
No luck getting a PS5 directly from Playstation either. After having been in a queue for forty minutes, sleep deprived because it had to be done when I'm normally sleeping, I get a message informing me that they are out of stock for the day.

Personally, at this point, I have given up. I want Playstation to burn to the ground.

The boyfriend, however, wanted to keep trying. And he thinks he has procured a console for me.

We'll see. Me, ever the pessimist.

Moved the desk to the other side of the room now that the window has been fixed.

Several steps closer to being a part of the Shiftmed agency. Waiting on background check, i9 and reference verifications.

Coastal Care didn't work out, because they wanted me to do a bunch of nonsense I didn't want to do.

After a few months of working agency, I have decided it's not for me. At least not for me in this area. The availability of nearby facilities was minimal and I'm not driving an hour or more to work somewhere.

During the period I was bouncing from one facility to another, I happened upon the place where my father works. He's retiring soon. At first, I didn't want to talk to him and he respected that. Eventually, our running into one another became unavoidable. He has changed, somewhat. He no longer seems averse to the fact that I am gay. I asked him if he still drinks. Like a fish, was his response. He asked me to become a permanent staffer at the facility, but the more time I worked there the less I liked the place. Due to minimal facility availability, I found myself working there more and getting frustrated and burned out entirely too easily. So, I had to cancel future shifts at that place and I had to take a break from working.

Recently, I applied at a nearby facility. Had an interview, a follow-up where I filled out more paperwork, and this coming Wednesday I have a full day of orientation. Will be working the overnight shift three days a week. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays. They don't consider Sunday to be part of their weekend. The good thing is I'm getting paid nearly as much as I made doing agency, which means agency is soon going to have to step up its wages.

I'll still keep the agency app and remain an employee in case I feel like picking up an extra shift.

Returning to work this evening, as staff at a facility. I imagine I will have at least one night of being paired with an aide for training. Probably two more nights thereafter, even though I have been doing agency at new facilities without any training. That's just how they do.

Working tonight, maybe. This new facility where I have decided to work has a weird way of staffing. They overstaff on the schedule to ensure they have enough people, then if everyone shows up there's a list to follow to cancel aides and send them home. You can choose to refuse to be canceled, but if everyone refuses then it comes back around to you since it's your turn and you have to go home. From what I've been told, there's always someone who wants to go home, and if anyone's working a double they try to send those aides home first. I'm only working three nights a week, and I don't mind being canceled so long as I at least get to work two nights a week.

Man, that's a fucked-up system. The people at the place we hired to take care of my MiL had the same people M-F, with subs on the weekend, and the subs were every bit as good, with a couple of nit-picks, like they preferred to wipe her ass only with the moist wipes, as opposed to using toilet paper first. Our cost for this was minimal (we provided the wipes), but the couple who were there 5 days a week used to get on the weekend people about being wastrels.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
