A solid reason to not support Discovery+
‘Resurrection’ Film Seeks to Open Floodgates for Faith-Driven Streaming
stream.org
Quote:Producer Roma Downey can’t help but get caught up in a story. Especially when it’s the greatest story ever told.

The new film Resurrection, which she and husband Mark Burnett produced, depicts the events of Easter Sunday. It premiered this past weekend on Discovery Plus, a fast-rising streaming service that launched in January.

“When we open the movie, they’re grieving and afraid,” Downey says of the disciples. “They think, ‘If they just killed Jesus, maybe they’re going to kill us next?’ But they decide to stay at least for three days. Because Jesus promised them he [would] be back.”

She advances to the pivotal Easter morning scene outside the tomb. “The look on those Roman guards’ faces is brilliant. They don’t even know what they’re looking at!” Downey told me in a video interview.

What they were seeing without understanding was “the greatest miracle of all time that changed the world forever.”

RE: A solid reason to not support Discovery+
We were offered a free year of Discovery+ through our cell phone service. I think I have watched pretty much everything I will ever watch on it other than a few nature documentaries. I can't see paying for it after the year is up. But good grief the hype. Watching other networks it seems every third commercial is for Discovery+.

Just flipping through the family of channels on cable, I do get fucking annoyed at pop up graphics that inturrupt the programming.

Funny how the greatest miracle of all time is confined to a tiny patch of a tiny planet on the outskirts of nothingness.

I'd watch the following 24/7 without compunction.

Wow, that video is so old that I remember watching it on a CD ROM that came with some magazine back in like the year 2000.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
