Based on Primate Cognitive Test battery, designed to differentiate cognitive skills into physical and social domains, the average human child two and half years old has approximately the same cognitive capability regarding physical objects and environment as adult great apes chimpanzee, gorilla and orangutan. But the same child would vastly outperform adult great apes in social cognitive skills.
Furthermore, while different primates groups, such as great apes and lemurs, show considerably different levels of physical cognitive capabilities, they all have similar social cognitive capabilities. humans are the lone exception with outsized social cognitive capability from toddler stage.

The most powerful military radar in the world transmits at 32MW.
To put that in perspective, the power of the microwave emission from that radar is about equal to 32000 household microwave ovens, or about equal to the total output of all 4 of Boeing 747’s engines during cruising flight.

Watching Todd in the Shadows take on The Macarena, I realised how little I knew about the song that was goddam everywhere when I was a small child:
- Somehow, I always thought the artists behind it were based out of Latin America, but they're actually from Seville. And they were around since the goddam 60s.
- The original version hit it big in Spain in 1993. Apparently, in Spain, the famous version is just sellout crap.
- The familar version is a remix by the Bayside Boys, which more or less plagiarised another remix by Fangoria called the River Fe-Mix and added English lyrics. Fangoria even sued the Bayside Boys for plagiarism, but it failed.
- There's a direct line between line dancing and the Macarena craze. Even before the Bayside Boys did their remix, the song was popular enough in Texas that a local paper did an article that even included interviews with clubgoers who've admitted they were already sick of it.
- The song hit it big in Canada before the US, covered by a group called Los Del Mar.

I have no confirmation about this, but, apparently, in the aftermath of releasing the worst depiction of autism I've ever seen on film, Sia has apparently been diagnosed with autism:
And, just for the record, Yes, I have seen that movie, and it wound up being even worse than I could have imagined. And, if true, I guess this makes exactly two autistic people I've been able to find (the other being IA) who thinks Music was a good representation of autism. And, yes, the problems are FAR deeper than casting a neurotypical actress to play an autistic character (which I think can at least work if the performer does their research and tries to get it just right.)

Had to look this up, and it's true.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster was fourteen years old when he played in the movie Nanny McPhee

Turns out that if you buy a Criterion blu-ray, stop it in the middle, and if, for instance, you replace it with another Criterion blu-ray disc of the same film, it will continue at the same point. Just a little something I discovered when I popped in my recall disc and the corrected disc of Citizen Kane. I thought that this had to be connected to the specific disc, but evidently not.

This even is the term when you only grew your beard twice, here, when I saw Richard Stallman at the corner when I am since "Two and a half men" as to far as to be seen that your "Yesterday beard" though man noboby is as thinning. Don't let me tell you, Metrowest Boston has the "Tomorrow Hacker" though the reality is the weird reference in *nix man pages, is doubly so, along the U-Game anecdote. "I did not know the real DSL numeral yesterday" although when you can find his post on Korea? Well everybody calls it Chuck Corea the Jazz man!
