No, it's not mandatory but we have been in COVID mode since I started working there (actually here, but you know what I mean) so gatherings have been limited.  I will probably go but will bow out when it seems to okay to do so.

I've been retired since 2014.

I won't be going to my company's Xmas party, because the boss is an asshole.

I also retired in 2014. Some of my supervision was of the anal persuasion. Well, most of them. I've never taken the time to see any of my co-workers, except for some who were peers and friends.
