A “Thomasson” is an architectural element on a building that once served a function, but no longer does, and yet is still maintained as a part of the aesthetic design of structure
It is first so named by the japanese artist Genpei Ikasagawa after the former SF Giants, LA Dodgers and NY Yankees outfielder Gary Thomasson who subsequently signed for a record sum of money by Yomiuri Giant, Ikasagawa’s favorite team. however, once there, Thomas, and went from All-Star to setting all-time strikeout record for all Nippon central league. Consequently, he was benched, but still Contractually maintained and making a lot of money while doing nothing.

every traffic light in United States has a red light over the yellow and green. All except for one. there is a single streetlight in the city of Syracuse on which the color order is inverted with the green light on top and red light on the bottom, and it has been arranged like this since the 1920s.
apparently, there was briefly a normal traffic light at this location. however, local people of Irish descent objected to the placement of the unionist color, red over the Irish color green. And the light was frequently vandalized until the city passed ann ordinance mandating the reversal of the color Order on this specific light.

There is no official name for fans of Celine Dion.
Not like Swifties for Taylor Swift and Beehives for Beyonce.

classical Chinese language does not distinguish between blue and green, and the cover both colors with a single word. This peculiarity affected color conception, which was exported to all of the east Asian cultures that fell into the sinosphere. As a direct result, the traffic light in Japan does not use green for go, more of a blueish green.

Gaijin players in Japanese baseball are, as I understand it, hired to hit home runs. This means they whiff a lot while swinging for the Ginza.

If you’re wondering why most of the Nude, semi nude, and clothed female sculptures on hundreds of Beaux art civic buildings and monuments across United States seem to look the same, that’s because one single artist’s model, Audrey Munson, served as a model for over half of them.

It appears as though John Diggle of Arrow was supposed to be Green Lantern, but apparently they never got around to it.

Green Lantern John Diggle was initially meant to happen post-Arrow.

He would have made a good GL; I remember they were teasing it the final season of Arrow.

Ryan Reynolds, when asked how he felt about his costume as Deadpool, said, ‘It fit like a glove…a glove that was woven from the threads of misery.’
