Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Apparently, there are three types of physical pain: there's the normal kind of pain that happens as a result of an external stimulus, there's neuropathy (which comes from damage to the nervous system), and then there's nociplastic pain (which comes from brain dysfunction and a poor processing of pain signals).
I know this because Dad's apparently been diagnosed with the last kind, nociplastic. Apparently, it doesn't respond to morphine, but it does respond to THC. Go figure.

IIRC tramadol would do as well. Don't quote, I was on drugs at the time.

Phillip K. Dick's novel 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep", the basis for 1982's Blade Runner, Was optioned for a film in 1970. Dick had some casting suggestions: he wanted Gregory Peck for Decker, Grace Slick for Rachael, and Wally Cox for Isidore/J.F. Sebastian.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
