What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?

Slept?

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

You know the song "Barracuda?"

It turns out that it was inspired by, of all things, a skeezy ad their record company put out. We're talking "heavily implying that the two sisters who fronted the band were fucking each other" skeezy.

Your sista! Where’s your lover?”Ann’s anger over the incident was channeled to write the song “Barracuda.”

Alcohol activates your pain receptors when you drink it. I guess I knew that, I just didn't think of it that way.

So, we can't call it 'Pain Go Bye-Bye Juice' anymore?

I learned that there's something called the Mexican Coke

Quote:In the United States and Canada, Mexican Coca-Cola, Mexican Coke (Spanish: Coca Cola de Vidrio (English: Bottle Coca Cola, or Coca Cola in a bottle)) or, informally, "Mexicoke",[1] refers to Coca-Cola produced in and imported from Mexico.[2] Mexican Coca-Cola has become popular in the United States due to its flavor, which is considered by many to differ from that of American Coke.

Very popular here...some restaurants even advertise it that way or mention that it's Mexican Coca-Cola on their menus.  I am not a fan of Coke so I am not that impressed.  Apparently it's made with real cane sugar and not corn syrup.  Here in Texas the Mexican soft drinks are a big deal.

I don't do carbonated drinks. Saw it mentioned in season two of Dead to Me. Had to look it up to see if it was a real thing.
