In order to sneak some vitamins and minerals into my parrots' diets I had to get creative.  I make a small box of cornbread with an extra egg and the shells crushed into it and add about a 1/3 cup of vitamin/mineral pellets and then some frozen mixed veggies.  I bake it longer than the mix calls for to bake out some of the added moisture then cut into one inch squares.  Each parrot gets a square daily along with their fresh seeds and water.  I don't remember where I first heard of doing something similar but they love it.  Whoever inherits them will be needing the recipe.

Fortified hardtack, kinda, got it.

Do you give them rib bones instead of cuttlebones? Hehe

They get neither...the egg shells give them the calcium.

Both love French fries and I think the African Grey has some Italian in her as she loves any kind of pasta. She like grits too. We really haven't found much of anything we eat that they won't eat. They just turn their beaks up at any parrot food that isn't just seed.

And what about homosexual couples? Are they excluded from carrying their spouses?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Audrey Hepburn had a deer for a pet and she took it shopping

Do you know what happened to it when it grew up?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Apparently, under the right circumstances, chemo can not only treat cancer, but cure diabetes.

On the Audrey Hepburn note: you know how she kept so thin? It wasn’t really due to proper diet and exercise. Rather the opposite, really. She lived in Holland during WW2 and was malnourished throughout a crucial part of her development. When she was about 15, Holland was under a lockdown that led to a famine. From then until the Allies liberated Holland, she lived on a diet of grass, endives, and tulip bulbs. She had to deal with a myriad of health issues from then until her death, including a particularly extreme form of edema that would have killed her if the liberation had gone much later (apparently, if it reached her heart, she would die, but it only reached her ankles by that point.) She maintained a slim figure (5’7” and 110 lbs.) with zero effort, which is admirable until you realize that her BMI was 17.23, which is underweight. I’ve made clear that I have some reservations about the BMI system, but at levels this low, the fact that muscle is denser than fat doesn’t really enter into the equation.

And the unhealthy body image that Hollywood seems to be pushing just becomes even more alarming when you consider that this is why she was such an icon.

The terms ‘upper case’ and ‘lower case’ referring to letters derives from from the early days of letterpress printing when capital letters were stored in a case that was typically positioned above a lower case which held the minuscule (small) letters.

American character actor Denver Pyle (The Andy Griffith Show, The Dukes Of Hazzard, and hundreds of other things) used the money he earned as an actor to speculate in oil. He would buy the rights to dry wells, betting that technology would improve to the point where the remaining oil in the wells could be extracted. He won the bet, and made more money from his speculation than his acting.
