What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Our new mailman is deaf. He came to the door to deliver a package. I stumbled through an ASL thank you and he helped me refine it.

We're having an outbreak of West Nile, 27 identified cases, 2 deaths.

The government of Trinidad is foolish enough to give air to the misinformation in a tweet by Nicki Minaj.

I may be exceeding the manufacturer's maximum towing capacity when towing my 6000 pound travel trailer. I'll have to go weigh it and find out. If it exceeds the specifications, that'll mean an $80k new truck. I guess I'll just drive it slowly...  Panic

Will the trailer weigh less if you drive slower? Angel

It will not, and I can say from experience, your transmission will hate you for it.

Hmph The issue is that the truck is (potentially) overloaded. I already keep as much following distance as I can, which is a real challenge on California roads and the entitled sacks of excrement who swerve all over the place. We have a dash cam for when the eventual duck and swerve scamster cuts us off and gets fricasseed to a bloody puddle under our truck. It's 3/4 ton Chevy with a big block 400 cubic inch engine and enough accessories that it's pushing 6k pounds. Needs to be weighed before a decision is made. I don't have $80k to drop on a truck. I'll probably end up renting a truck when we go camping. There is no way I'm ever going to camp enough for a rental truck's cost to come anywhere close to the cost of a new truck.

That’s generally considered folklore, as there is no record of monkeys on French ships. However, it’s not inconceivable that it was based on real events. Attend -

During the Napoleonic wars, young boys (generally 12-15 years old) aboard ship were employed to prime the ship’s cannon immediately before and during a battle. A common nickname for these kids was ‘powder monkeys’. It’s just possible that one or more of them were captured and hanged as spies.
