What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
As long as I’ve known Elliott Smith, I’ve assumed that when he died in 2003, he did so by his own hand. He certainly seemed like he was suicidally depressed. However, I just went down a rabbit hole and found out there’s a strong and very convincing argument that he was actually murdered by his girlfriend.

https://rocknyc.live/five-reasons-why-el...icide.html

Given the method of his death, that he died from two stab wounds to the chest, is very unusual for a suicide, especially when, unlike most every other case:
A) there’s no hesitation wounds (plus one of the wounds was an unusually deep 5-7 inches)
B) he apparently did so through his shirt (something which is otherwise almost unheard of in cases of self-stabbing)
C) the only other wounds were cuts on his right arm, which (especially given that Elliott was a rightie) seem more consistent with defensive wounds than the typical wrist-cutting.
D) he did so in the middle of the day during a long fight loud enough that other neighbors heard it
The fact that Jennifer Chiba’s a free woman is legitimately shocking, to be honest.

On a lighter note, I wonder how many productions of Romeo and Juliet have Juliet killing herself while topless or in just a bra.

Saw this nifty clip on Youtube comparing a human and a dolphin foetus to make some believer look stupid(er). To be fair, he was suckered.

And I put it in the “making fun of religion memes” thread. The weird thing is the dolphin fetus looks more human than the human fetus.

General Colin Powell once visited the Star Trek TNG set and took the captain's chair on the Enterprise-D bridge.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

In 2015, Dave Grohl fell off the stage during a Foo Fighters concert in Sweden during the second song of the show, breaking his leg. Carried back on stage a few minutes later, he finished the entire 26 song set with his doctor kneeling in front of him, holding Grohl’s leg together.

Fucking badass.

But seriously, they're discussing circulating antibodies and not considering memory cell production/response. Not completely unprotected.
