many stories are older than the bible. Afterall we have many of the original stories that bible plagiarized.

But i would like to know where we found the 5,000 year old version  of jack and the bean stalk.

Well I'm surprised and I live there. Fascinating

I'm more familiar with the sharks which will eat you, or at least bite you in half and then decide they don't like the taste.

I am in actually very little danger of being bitten by a shark; last time I swam in the ocean was 1971. Cool ,

sorry to say, bull sharks are probably responsible for most shark attacks on humans in the sea world wide, and bull sharks not only can survive in fresh water, but have been documented swimming 50-100 miles up freshwater rivers and attacking bathers there.

For all those expecting a new civil war, remember that according to the Pentagon, 71% of Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are ineligible to join the military. They are too overweight, too poorly educated, or have a criminal record.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Actually, it’s great whites, and by a pretty substantial margin.

Apparently, it's Barnes and Noble company policy to not lower prices on DVDs, Blu-Rays, and CDs when a store is liquidating. I don't know why it's company policy, but it apparently is. And I found out the hard way because one of the Barnes and Noble stores near me is closing and I tried to take advantage of it by getting a John Cassavetes boxed set when the store was advertising 50% off everything (and then they put "Except for AV materials" in really tiny print on the print ads when I actually went there.)

Also, it took a surprisingly long time for the girl behind the counter to find it, even though it's plainly visible behind them. There was even a point where I wondered if she was a Host, since it looked like she couldn't even see the shelf that had them. Like, she asked "Is this [Complete set of Breaking Bad] it?" And when I said it was beyond it, she pointed to an empty space, and when I told her to go further, she went to the border of the shelf.

 Not surprised.

I was drafted in 1968.  Out of my platoon of 60 men, I was the only one who had finished high school (at night)

This was the creme of Australian youth.

I never once met the son of a politician or any of the professions.  Several of the blokes had criminal records. The top of our camp social tree was the camp bookie . He drove a Daimler. (this was after I'd been posted)

Our trainers were career soldiers. Many had been to Vietnam.  I'll leave it to your imagination to work out the quality of persons who join the army voluntarily in peace time. (including the officers)

Somehow, I get the feeling that the types who are chomping at the bit for a new civil war are probably going to find their own guerrilla groups if they can't join the military.

A full human cadaver for research costs roughly $500.

I was about to ask the cost if I only want it for a Hallowe’en decoration.
