What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?

I'm inclined to think it persists largely because it's a symbol. What exactly it's a symbol of isn't 100% clear (their history, the sort of dignity people should aspire to, I just wrote 2000 words on this movie and the significance of the Queen and I'm still not sure), but one thing is: Elizabeth was almost certainly better at being that symbol than Charles is.

Charlie may look like a lobotomized shrimp when waxing lyrical about what he approves of,  but at least he exhibits signs of possessing marked less disreputable moral standards compared to the British conservative establishment when giving public signs of what he disapproves of.

The rich seem to mistake their monetary status as the theists do with their religious faith, that their privilege provides them with insight into how others should live.

I don’t think that attitude is unique to the wealthy and the religious. It seems to be pretty widespread among the general population.

Why do you care? It’s the British monarchy, generally approved of by British people.

There is power in symbols and myth.  As long as the monarch has public support, it can still be a force in times of crisis.  If the monarchy loses public support, it will simply be abolished.

The E3-1225 v2, which is basically an E3-1220 v2 with graphics, doesn't support 1600 Mhz memory like the graphic-less E3-1220 or its hyperthreaded sibling, the E3-1230.

Someone was selling a lot of two of them and I almost bit, but decided to double-check the TDP before ordering and noticed this anomaly.

It's not actually symbolic, there's no legal limit to the kijg's power. All he needs is to be sure enough that the army will obey him and to order them to march on parliament to take the power back de facto.

I seriously think that should Charles reign for any length of time he'll expose, through his inability to not meddle or push his often quite stupid opinions, tye fatal flaws in the UK's customary system and consequentially force both a constitution and a republic on England.

The movie Airport (not the Zuckerberg parody Airplane) was primarily filmed at the Minneapolis airport.

The film was named "Airplane!" and was a parody of "Zero Hour!", but yes, I guess it was a parody of the whole genre.
