She apparently owned a few patents.    Although I wouldn’t say her patents put her in the same league as Heady Lamarr.

That’s ‘Hedley’.

That’s what they’d like you to believe. 4chan users’ favourite films are more likely along the lines of Vixens From Venus and Bolero.

After being cast adrift by the mutineers of HMS Bounty with 20 men in a 23 foot open boat designed for 10 and weighed down until there is barely 9 inches of freeboard, without navigation instruments or charts, and with food enough for only 5 days,  Captain Bligh rallied the men to sail the little boat for 45 days in stormy mostly weather, using only a pocket watch and his memory of the charts for navigation, to hit an almost exact landfall 4000 miles to the west at Kupang in what is now Indonesia.

Bligh’s feat of seamanship remains unparalleled.   This remains the longest open boat journey on the record.

The longest musical piece ever written is intended to take 640 years to play.

A organist played it at at greatly accelerated rate in 14 hours 56 minutes in 2009.   This is the longest recorded individual performance.

A team of 2 organists played the piece at greatly accelerated in 2 12 hour shifts.    The 24 hour performance is the longest recorded team performance.

A specially built organ in a church in Germany began to play it at its intended tempo the year 2001.    The first note change occurred in 2020.   The next note change is scheduled to occur in 2024.

In 1955, Grumman test pilot Tom Attridge flying a navy F-11 fighter jet became the first pilot to shoot down his plane with its own gun.   In a shallow descent, he fire a burst from the fighter’s cannons.  He then lit the afterburner and continued the descent.   The cannon shell’s trajectory decayed while his plane accelerated, until they crossed paths again and shells struck the plane from above.    The plane was seriously damaged and crash landed.
