What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?

1. Make a backup of anything you see in your computer systems you would be very pissed off if you lost.
2.  Before you pay for assistance, (which fortunately I didn't do), use a simple air puff/blast from an air can to blow the dust out of a UBS drive.
Better yet, use the damn caps on your UBS drives. Doh.

Modify 1: Make *multiple* independent backups, stored in different physical locations.

2. Those who are about to.

Finnegan's Ice Cream Parlor, the little old-fashioned ice cream joint stuck in the middle of Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, apparently closed a few months ago. Here's the best image I could find of the menu board:

the odds of winning a multimillion dollar lottery jackpot is roughly equal to the odds of being struck by lightning twice in one life time.

but do not despair. Roy Sullivan survived being hit by lightening 7 times in 30 years, although arguably his lifestyle and habits probably makes his chance of being hit by lightning somewhat atypical.

My personal odds of winning a multimillion dollar lottery jackpot are exactly zero.

So, did he also win the lottery three and a half times then? Think

No. But he did get a hat and a boot with hole burned by lightning in them.

The hydrogen gas bags inside each Zeppelin dirigible airship, such as the infamous Hindenburg, were made from outer layer of the intestines of up to half a million cows.

in addition to its combustability, hydrogen gas presents another mortal danger to the crew of a zeppelin airship, because hydrogen asphyxiates quickly and without warning symptoms other then loss of consciousness.

So when the crew of a zeppelin airships works in the upper part or the envelope where  any escaped hydrogen may accumulate, they are required to whistle continuously. The reason for the mandate is the only warning they have that they’ve moved into a dangerous pocket of escaped hydrogen is the sound of their whistling will suddenly become sharp and shrill, for the same reason that breathing in helium causes the persons voice to become sharp and shrill

Isaac Herzog, the current President of Israel, is the fist person to hold that office who was born in the modern state of Israel.
