What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
RE: What do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
In the Middle Ages, they tried animals as well as humans for breaking the law. In ecclesiastic courts, the animals were even provided lawyers and one pig got off thanks to testimony about its virtuous behavior.

If you treat humans like animals,  why should animals not expect to be treated like humans?

Apparently, the waiters from that notorious scene from A Christmas Story were almost certainly doing it on purpose:

Aside from the boss being able to say his "R"s properly, Chinese phonology doesn't work that way. If anything (at least if they were originally Cantonese speakers), it'd be the other way around. Maybe if they originally spoke some other dialect, but those are rare among Chinese-Americans, especially in the 1940s.

I did not know that Taylor Swift had a brother. And he is cute.

Adding cold cream to coffee (or cold milk to tea) keeps the beverage warmer longer, partly because the slightly cooler drink now loses heat less quickly and partly because the denser drink evaporates more slowly.
