More than 11 years without tire fitting/repair. This is what one of the wheels of the Curiosity Rover looks like at the moment.

Looks like proof of life. Fuckin vandalizers!

In the Hitler assassination attempt, Project Valkyrie, the only injury Hitler suffered was to his ear.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Twelve years into its two year mission...

Fun fact: For the Spirit and Opportunity Rovers, NASA contracted with a local (to JPL) watchmaker to make some special watches that ran on Mars time.  A Mars day is 39 1/2 minutes longer than an Earth day.  He hand-adapted several of them for the rover teams, so they could shift their circadian rhythms to match the time on Mars, in order to sync with their Mars-based work schedules "driving" the rovers.

My wife gifted me one of the originals, 20 years ago.  As a space nerd, it's one of my most prized possessions, right up there with a thermal tile removed from the Shuttle Atlantis.
Disappointing theists since 1968!

I make sure to get a full blood workup done annually, I was reviewing the results of some of my labs since 2016.  Since that time, I have lost 140 pounds and stopped eating meat except for fish and shellfish, stopped drinking alcohol,  and I put a real effort into eating well.

You wouldn't know it from the data - my total cholesterol is flat at about 210 - thereby debunking any connection between dietary and serum cholesterol, at least for me.

What's the high (HDL), low (LDL) and very low (VLDL) numbers, did they change? Did the HDL to Total ratio change? Just curious.

HDL 45, LDL 157, VLDL 14, triglycerides 76. Ratio of HDL to total is largely unchanged, the only outlier was HDL about 83 two days before I quit drinking. My labs were a mess that time.

That's a good ratio, better than mine.

Do you eat a lot of red meat?

My doc isn't really concerned, he said he could put me on a statin but he pegged my one year heart attack risk at 5%, so for now I declined.

It's pretty equal between beef/pork/chicken/fish, only about 4oz in a day. Some days no meat at all.

At 67 mine's more concerned with BP, exercise and balance. My annual wellness is next month, they'll do a mini mental then.
