Actually, that does explain a lot - God is a bored and tired housewife with too many kids.

Which a bunch more people would come to the conclusion of when they realized that all they were looking for was a parental figure they can call on when shit goes wrong, or appeal to when confused.

I don't deny that the gods of the world's religions are a human invention. I am just stating that when debating with theists, that asking "who created this god or that particular god" is not a terribly good question.

I have been reading through various articles on the website Common Sense Atheism. A wonderful site which I have to thank TheVoid for suggesting this site to myself.

We are all familiar with the argument if God exists, who then created god. This article below explains why this is not a terribly good argument. I have come to agree with the conclusions of this article. Because if say the hypothesis of an multiverse were proven, such a multiverse might have always existed and will always exist.

Instead of asking the question who designed god, instead ask theists the question

“Why is God the best explanation for that? Will you explain, please?”

this is a subject I'm interested in discussing. I've read only this post and a very few others, so sorry if I missed something important.

There is an interesting thing (at least to me): we're all told that, because of the laws of the universe, the big-bang was caused, and because of the big-bang, the creation of the universe was caused, and because of the laws of the universe, it is how it is now, in relatively stable form, and because of the laws of the universe, planets and stars have been created as they are now, in the places they are now, moving and transforming themselves in the way they do now. And because of the laws of the universe, a cell got created, and because of the laws of the universe, life got created, and because of the laws of the universe, evolution took place, and because of the laws of the universe, they have all transformed into what they are now, and because of the laws of the universe, we could survive and develop technology and make a better life for ourselves, transport easily, communicate on far distances, build buildings, etc.

So the question is : what made the laws of the universe? What made them be what they are? I mean, all science is based on the laws of the universe, and all explanation of the universe and life is based on it. But they are not random, because if they would, then all the universe and earth and living beings would have been chaotic. e.g. appear chaotically, disappear chaotically, explode chaotically, moving chaotically, we would have had different number of eyes and spread out chaotically on our bodies, etc. and all would have been randomly and chaotically, perhaps there would've been big-bangs after 3 seconds, then after 5 minutes (chaotically), etc. The story could go on.

Anyway, isn't the explanation "the laws of the universe have always existed and been like this" the same as "the earth has always existed, and been like this (with trees, animals, etc.)"?

I've heard an explanation to this, that "there are an infinite number of parallel worlds, with different chaotic laws, and so, only our world got to have good laws to sustain it", but this is science-fiction. I mean, even if there were an infinite number of universes (which is only imagination), there is no way to determine that one could have indeed gotten to have "good laws of the universe" able to sustain it. Moreover, we can't even imagine how there could possibly exist parallel worlds.

So, what do you guys think about this?
