However members of professions, such as doctors, scientists, lawyers, academics etc can be very prickly. Part of the reason is that professions usually have a dominant power paradigm. Change often tends to be revolutionary rather than evolutionary. Have a look at say the history of science and of medicine.
Having said that, I find it hard to believe Dr Fauci said any such thing. In his public utterances I've read he comes across as objective and very professional, often in the face vocal and ignorant criticism.
Beware of anything IA tells you. Take it with a massive grain of salt

Nah you're the fool ...Fool
Considering in context he's clearly saying that right-wingers are attacking him as a figurehead of all the science they dislike. Not that he's personally the decider of what is science or anything like that.
From your own article.
Quote:Dr. Anthony Fauci fired back against criticism by Republican lawmakers Wednesday, insisting his guidance throughout the coronavirus pandemic has been based on scientific evidence and that “science and truth are being attacked.”
So you were being misled here. "SO DEAL WITH IT !"

I'd love to see the quote of Fauci actually saying that.
Turns out it's a wet fart of Fauci stating the fact his critics have used him as a figurehead to bash all CREDIBLE science on Covid.

Exactly.
And thats why IA is a fucking liar. He fucking doubled down on his lie in this very thread to someone who has not seen the according inerview with Fauci.
Fuck you IA for trying to spread misinformation. Fuck you for trying to make humanity more ignorant. Fuck you for trying to increase suffering on this planet.
Fuck you for doing all this for some dubious personal reasons. Fuck you in every conceivable way.

Yeah, people should actually be worried about hoaxers like Ted Cruz as well as other Republican senators who are inventing insane fabrications
Quote:A number of GOP lawmakers have targeted Fauci over whether the NIH had funded "gain of function research," a type of study that could affect the transmissibility of pathogens, per the Washington Post.
In May, Fauci denied the agency had funded such research, but in October, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) accused him of lying and said he should be prosecuted, Politico reported.
GOP Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Tom Cotton of Arkansas have also accused Fauci of lying, Politico reported.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Interesting interpretation you have there, but Fauci's quotes speak for themself. Let's just look at one of Fauci's many lies. He initially said masks were not helpful for the general public. He later admitted he had to lie, so healthcare workers would have the PPE they needed. It only takes one lie from Fauci to debunk the narrative that 'he is the science, he represents science, and criticizing him is criticizing science and truth.' Nice try though. Decent attempt if I were to steelman your position for a minute, but no. Fauci is saying that if you disagree with him on any point, you are anti-science, which is BS. No one man represents science. All great scientists in history end up being wrong about some things and right about others. What Fauci is doing is propaganda to try to get people to turn against their friends and co-workers and turn them into social outcasts for questioning Fauci on any point even a little bit. It's exactly the same as when Hillary's emails leaked and Don Lemon came on tv saying people are not allowed legally to go check out the info from wikileaks themselves, but don't worry, because CNN is going to bring you the truth and tell you what you need to know.
And those links you posted about the gain of function are called damage control. There's a reason trust in MSM is at an all time low. The only way some of these media entities would write a bad word about Fauci would be if he were to make an anti-war statement or something.
And I love how you're just shrugging off the news that 'a bat coronavirus was enhanced to become potentially more infectious to humans'. Nothing to see here folks, right? That's not concerning at all, right?

Calm down. I did not lie. Fauci said criticizing him is criticizing science. He also said he represents science. I did not lie about what he said.

I also found it shocking that Fauci said such a thing, and I don't blame you for questioning such an insane quote, but you know google exists and you might want to use that before going on the attack against me. I'm glad that we can at least agree that this would be some of the most clownish propaganda if Fauci did say it... so here you are.
On Wednesday, the NIH sent a letter to members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce that acknowledged two facts. One was that EcoHealth Alliance, a New York City–based nonprofit that partners with far-flung laboratories to research and prevent the outbreak of emerging diseases, did indeed enhance a bat coronavirus to become potentially more infectious to humans, which the NIH letter described as an “unexpected result” of the research it funded that was carried out in partnership with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The NIH based these disclosures on a research progress report that EcoHealth Alliance sent to the agency in August, roughly two years after it was supposed to. An NIH spokesperson told Vanity Fair that Dr. Fauci was “entirely truthful in his statements to Congress,” and that he did not have the progress report that detailed the controversial research at the time he testified in July. But EcoHealth Alliance appeared to contradict that claim, and said in a statement: “These data were reported as soon as we were made aware, in our year four report in April 2018.”
