Plath
September 10, 2021 at 10:28 am
As in Welcome to Plathville.
Despite being around since 2019, I have only recently heard of them. I'm guessing this is the television family replacing the Duggars?
Anyone have any insight into Plath?

Sounds like something you want to avoid.

I've watched it.
Pretty looney family dynamics in that one. The father is a goofy, grinning idiot as far as I can tell. The mother is a bitch who doesn't like her only daughter-in-law because she's too wild. But a couple of the older kids are a lot wilder so I am a bit confused by the difference in how they are treated.
Religion is a part of the show, but kind of a minor part. The biggest thing is this family of kids raised basically in seclusion and now the older ones are trying to figure out how to navigate in the world.

The thread title made me think this was about Sylvia Plath. Pity, as I had a rant all ready about how much I despise her poetry.

It made me want to crawl under the house like an old dog.

I once did a mashup of Plath's recording of "Daddy" and Dave Brubeck's "Kathy's Waltz." The sax solo was omitted to keep it from running over. Somehow, it worked, even if it's just in the timing of the words and not the actual content.
