I looooove horror. The creepy kind the best. I like gore when it adds to the horror experience. Not so much a fan of gore for gore's sake (except Evil Dead and a few others). Growing up, I liked slasher movies (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St. etc.) These days I'm more into the creepy vibe/atmospheric stuff. Isolation, ineffable terror, stuff like that. Not too much into the slasher angle anymore. I mean... I'll tolerate a slasher flick when there's nothing else... especially if there's boobs.
@ brewer Have you seen Ash vs Evil Dead on Netflix? It's awesome.

The creepy-gradually-building-a-sense-of-dread kind. The less gore the better.

Not yet.

Showing my age here, but "Trilogy Of Terror" from the 70s, scared the shit out of me.
The first 4 "Friday The 13th's" as well
"Jaws" 1 and 2.
"Poltergeist".
But that was when I a kid an teen. Horror movies today don't interest me.

I like monsters, the more intriguing the creature the better. Slashers are too close to being possible for me, I didn't like Jason until he was a zombie. I also like subtle horror where the implications are freaky...like in Blair Witch where they were following the river and still wound up going in a circle.

Ugh... I very much disliked Blair Witch. I'm rather unfond of all "found footage" style films. But some people really like them.
If you like creature features, Mister, you wanna see Lights Out. It's a good one.

I never understood that series. "OH MY GOD, SPOOKY SOUNDS WITH NIGHT VISION GOGGLES IN THE WOODS". I swear the makers were trying to prove they could sell bacon grease as Filet Mignon.
"Blair Witch" was not a "project", it was a couple of college grads whom were high.

All the horror I need stares me straight in the face through the looking glass.

Absolutely NOTHING happened in that movie. It had it's moments, don't get me wrong but it wasn't worth watching the entire film for those scant few relevant horror moments. I don't get the draw.
