Is anyone else tired of “just kidding” “it’s just a joke” “you have no sense of humor”? I have a sense of humor but I won’t let anyone disrespect me because they’re “just kidding”.

Context is important.

There is a tremendous difference between a friend executing a well deserved zinger, and a complete stranger making the same comment.

A joke told as the intention of being a joke, is just that, a joke.

If someone is forcing you to listen to unfunny jokes (frequently offensive and on a personal level) and then saying "JK", maybe you could give that person a book on how to be funny, so that they get the message.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Yeah, context is everything as is the intent.

So called jokes and practical jokes are often a form of passive aggression and meant to cut.   'Good natured teasing' has never been a thing in my family because those bastards can be the nastiest of all.  Dodgy

"Just kidding" is often just an excuse when getting caught saying something stupid.  It's a way (to try) to save face as often as not.

A lot of "humor" is passive-aggressive.
