Could you explain this? Doesn't Christianity have a large amount of 'baggage'? Even the apparently cool Buddhism doesn't seem to rule out a fair amount of genocide.

So what do you, personally, mean by baggage? And how does it outdo other religions?

There is a clear religion. With Temple and the Book and the Hebrew. That exists and is a definite thing. We ALL agree on that.

But there is also a definite race. But it is harder to pin down much like Irish or Italian. Many people have similar physical traits seen as Irish but might not identify as Irish. Many people have Italian physical traits but might not identify as Italian. The same can be said of old world jews. There are physical traits that you might see as Jewish but that doesn't mean the person has any more Jewish blood than Irish or Italian.

That's where the eye of the beholder comes in and it becomes racist or not. You might see a "Jew" and I might see an "Italian". Or you might see an "Irish" and I might see a dirty rotten Scotsman. To say it is or isn't a race is irrelevant. If even a small group of people see it as one, it is one.
