How informant are you?

How informant are you?
Have you ever turned someone in to the police or other enforcement types?

Yes, my father.

Growing up, he was a raging, verbally abusive alcoholic who frequently got black-out drunk. One night, I called the police on him and they came to check up on things.

Yes, my father.

Mom called me to come downstairs and call them. Dad had tried to kick my brother's ass and my brother had him in a wrestling hold under the kitchen table while mom was trying to choke him.

I had flown home for my brother's graduation and sister's wedding. Brother wrecked his car and dad decided he needed to die....and mom saw it as her chance to get rid of dad.

I asked the cops to stay while I went and got my stuff and left.

I should really note that night in my baby book...awww, memories.

Nope, but that does not mean that we weren't all rounded up anyway.  Fuckin Randy Baylor.

I have given a medical deposition. Saw a medication aide give the wrong medication to 2 patients (before I caught/stopped it). The nursing home was going down anyway, I was icing.

Turned myself into two state boards, yeah, that was during my opiate addiction phase.

I'll not get into all of the medical fraud while working in health insurance audits. None involved lives, only $$$. But the state(s) was involved.

OK Boru, your turn, we know you have a BIG story.

Yes, my two older sons, both psychiatric patients, had gotten out of control to the point that they were smashing windows, and we had no choice.

Nah, I was generally the one who got turned in. Sorry to disappoint.

Yes, I am a "snitch". Rolleyes

A couple of years ago, our street was being resurfaced. Some guy came to the door and asked if we could move our truck. I told him sure, and moved it around the corner. Then I realized that he wasn't wearing a work uniform (after he left), so I went and reviewed the security camera footage and saw where he was looking into the windows of my youngest son's car, and inside my truck. I copied that video to a cd and delivered it to the local PD. I discussed the situation with one of my neighbors who also saw him snooping into vehicles. A few days later, he tells me that the PD had the guy in handcuffs on a side street. Haven't seen the perp since.

The cameras are up because of some vandalism that occurred a few years ago. Took care of that, quite nicely.

Just last year, I got a blackmail threat from someone who hacked a site I used to visit. I got the pertinent information and gave it to the PD. There were enough inconsistencies in what the dickhead claimed to know about me that I could tell that it was an empty threat. I reported it anyway, though I later discovered that PDs don't generally follow up on these things.

To bad you're in CA and not TX. "They needed killin" should be a national statute. Well, maybe not kill, but wound, definitely wound. Go thru life with a limp, bad behavior is when knee caps become optional.

RE: How informant are you?
Years ago I tried turning in a " neighbor" who had moved in across the street.

I knew way more about this guy than he knew about me.

He was cooking meth. He also started a " tire business" - recutting tires and offing them as " retreads".

A meth lab and a big pile of tires - what could go wrong?

I used my connections - and talked to both the county drug force undercover squad OIC and the DA. (The DA is a neighbor)

They couldn' t do anything.

......

While I was in a wheelchair following an accident - the methhead tireboy and his crew self destructed. They took everything in the house, loaded up 2 U haul trucks, set fire to the house and headed off into the sunset.

Within a week the whole crew was busted in Tennessee cooking meth in two hotel rooms....

They got 7 years.

Before they were released they got a visit from an ADD informing them they have outstanding arson warrants in this county - but only extradition in state.

End result - their Michigan priviledges have been revoked. They are not coming back.

A neighbor bought the property at county tax auction.

It remains vacant.

So, you're saying I should move to Texas?
