I live in Ontario and I can't walk 90 seconds outside of my residence without seeing a Confederate battle flag. I see quite a few battle flags on license plates. I kinda doubt these people support slavery, but it could be the case.

Whether they support slavery or not it's what the flag means.

I'd understand if there was a lot of Stars-and-Bars loving Canadians in Alberta (from what I understand, it's the Redneck Autonomous Oblast of Canada), but hearing that it's that common in Ontario is surprising. Or is that just an import from the trucker convoy? I could at least understand if these were some Southerners who just considered it a good symbol for their cultural heritage (I wouldn't agree, but I could at least see where it was coming from), but the appeal for someone in Ontario eludes me. Or was there a big truck full of outdated Skynyrd merch that crashed outside of Toronto?

This is why Kyle Rittenhouse came proper and was carrying that night. Because he knew he was probably going to be dealing with some whackjobs, so he came prepared.

I  won't deny he's likely traumatized now. But really that just shows he bit off more than he was bargaining for. Not that he wasn't looking for trouble that night.

Well other people might have been in danger when that other guy shot his gun, right before the man who was killed came at Rittenhouse for absolutely no reason. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. We're not becoming too woke to give out Darwin awards, are we now? Helios could be right that Rittenhouse showed up looking to catch a murder case, but I prefer to stick with the known facts. I think the guy who just got out of the mental hospital and who was yelling out "shoot me (n word)" might have been a little more in the mood to not mind catching a case than the teenager with big ambitions in life who spent his time being a lifeguard and volunteering. I've always maintained that it was unwise for Kyle to be there that night, and Kyle admits now that it was a mistake, and he's paying for that mistake with PTSD or whatever it is he's dealing with. I wouldn't advise anyone do what he did, but if he was that determined to be there, bringing along some kind of protection probably wasn't the worst idea. Kyle's big mistake was allowing himself to get separated from his group. He wouldn't have been attacked if he wasn't alone with such a big target on his back.

Of course it was a stupid game for Kyle to be there, and he almost payed for it with his life when the guy who got his bicep blown off pulled a gun on him. Kyle played a stupid game and just lucked out shooting so well as a novice.

So any hardship he or danger he faced is completely of his own making. It's just sad a bunch of people who didn't need to die so the little shit could be "lucky"
