Intentionality and qualia are nothing like any of those examples. You do see that, right?

Like the spontaneous healing of an adult amputee? Supposedly, you would continue to profess "separate Magisteria" in such an occurrence?

They are certainly more complex. But then, the brain is more complex than a container of gas.

Are they different in a way that leads us to suspect they can't be emergent from the brain processes? No.

In fact, ALL the evidence that we have is precisely that all conscious events are, in fact, brain events.

And, frankly, I think that 'qualia' is too vague a term to be useful. Nobody seems to be able to agree exactly what it means.

To quote from Dr. Michael Shermer, "Talking to the dead is easy; it's getting them to talk back, that's the hard part."

The religious want their conscious mind to survive the death & destruction of their brains and bodies. As an atheist, such is an amazing thought! I wish it were true, but, it's not. Life is still worth living.

I'm willing to keep an open mind about things until science shuts the door. It hasn't done so yet. But you do you.

If anything, life is more worth living if atheism is true than if religion is true.

Religion isn't true, which makes it pointless to argue about it. It's like asking if telepathy or teleportation (on the macroscopic level) were true. Life is worth living just because it is.

Religion is true enough for religious people. But of course, it's just a cope.

You cross the line from skepticism to cynicism with enthusiasm. You're what has been described as a pseudo-skeptic. All the calories, but half the taste.
