Science proceeds on the basis of methodological naturalistism, that only physical, materialistic phenomenon are causally active and observable in our World. Some scientists extend this paradigm to philosophical naturalism, that only materialistic forces and phenomenon exist; others do not.

The United States National Academy of Sciences has elaborated on this, their statements and publications of which can be easily found online.

The scientific process not as objective as you're implying. The scientific process, what scientists focus on, and ultimately scientific conclusions, are all ensnared in subjective ideas. How do you contend to separate science from ideas?
