I have learned to play several of his songs. In fact I usually recomend his music to my students who are at begginers level playing skill. They are easy to play and sing, and can be really fun to play as well.

My favorite is Folsom prison blues

Really? I mean REALLY? The man did so many drugs he had to be hospitalized multiple times. And at the end of his life he realized that he'd done a lot of shitty things so he converted back to Christianity to "avoid Hell" and even memorialized this idea in the song, Ain't No Grave. Johnny Cash represents everything a typical atheist would hate ... and yet, somehow he's EVERYTHING you want to be?!?

Let this be a little life lesson for some of you. Just because someone is very talented and respected the world over for whatever he does .... does NOT make him worthy of your adoration and it sure as hell doesn't make him a good person.

That being said, I like Johnny Cash's songs too ... but I'm not metaphorically blowin the guy.

Yeah, Johnny Cash is awesome. He's one of relatively few pop singers whose range lies in my tessirura, (like Ian Curtis and that guy from the Crash Test Dummies).

Here's a few of my favourite songs from him:
