Consider a little thought experiment (along with the ones previously given): You are in love with a beautiful man, who, unbeknownst to you, is a psychopath who is merely pretending to love you back in order to con you out of your wealth. There is no true reciprocity of love, but your feelings are exactly the same as if they were.
If the feeling isn't mutual you are not in a relationship one partner is simply preying on the other. Objects don't feel anything so it's not a relationship you are simply using the object and gods and imaginary friends aren't real they are simply reflections of a person's mind and have no thoughts of their own
Right. The love is real and present, but now we shift to discussing relationship. As I've noted, in an objectum relationship the OS is (unless you subscribe to animism) experiencing a psuedo-relationship, like believers and their god.

And in the same way homosexuality became far more acceptable and homophobia considered gauche and unpleasant, I believe the same will happen in regard to transfolk, non-binaries, asexuals, and objectums. It has already started, and attitudes towards research things have shifted a huge amount even in just the past few years.
What at present seems weird and unthinkable may in a generation be commonplace. I know many young people, and most have no issue with any of these things. Homosexual, Bisexual relationships are between two thinking beings objectums isn't even in the same category
asexuals are again not comparable to objectums
Trans and non-binary people are not a sexual orientation
So these are false comparisons and frankly insulting to all the above groups

Laying aside the armchair psychologising and casual queerphobic bigotry, Arcade there has therapists and they encourage them in their object relationship. This is normal with OS who have mental health professionals working with them. My own sex and relationship therapist was supportive of my OS lovers, and this is normal practice.

Right. The lovenis real and present, but now we shift to discussing relationship. As I've noted, in an objectum relationship the OS is (unless you subscribe to animism) experiencing a psuedo-relatiknship, like believers and their god. Nope what they experience is a false belief that something that cannot love and cannot feel loves them. That's simply their imagination.

This sounds not unlike the type of talk from advocates of the position that marriage can only be between a man and a woman, and anything else weakens marriage.

Many lgbtq+ and asexual groups I've been part of do not see it as insulting at all. A couple of asexual sexologists I've discussed the issue with see OS as non-allonormative and thus falling under the ace umbrella. Given that fictosexuality is already a fairly established microlabel under the ace umbrella, this is not surprising. Likewise, it wasn't suprising for me to meet my first ficto and OS friends on AVEN. Many OS are ace as well (and many ace are trans, NBi and/or bi). I am not cis and not heterosexual myself.

I'm not disagreeing with that. Hence why I use the terms psuedo-relationship and illusory reciprocity. But the love sensation is really, as is the sexual attraction. Love is love.

Again queer people are nothing like this person so no there is no bigotry present I'm afraid. Those therapists apparently need therapists themselves then. Also I'm not an arm psychologist I'm a real one and if a patient told me they were in love with a arcade machine there would be some sessions in their future.
