Happy whatever you celebrate

Happy whatever you celebrate
It's Christmas Eve here in the US.  We are going to my daughter's house later to eat some yummy food and exchange gifts.  My son will be there with his woman and his step-daughter.

We may need SCUBA gear to get there.  It's been raining since yesterday afternoon and the whole backyard is under water.  I grew up with snowy, cold Christmases.

Tomorrow will be a day to do nothing for us (husband and me) while the kids go to their in-laws.

Hope everyone survives time with family.   Angel

Be safe, eat lots of goodies, and try not to catch any cooties on this day of forced togetherness.

Sure. People celebrate secular Christmas where they celebrate Santa, presents, consumerism, the solstice, and the tree. It doesn't have to do anything with religion.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I performed an exorcism on the spirit of the holiday a long time ago.

Happy holidays and Saturnalia, folks.

A friend from work showed up at my place last night with beer and a kitten.
