Less unhappy than if Israel won.  They should have been kicked out, and after their shenanigans this year, they should be permanently kicked out.

I’m not sure of the wisdom of punishing Israeli performers for the actions of the Israeli government.

Are you sure?

Yes - I’m absolutely sure that I’m not sure.

I'm more sure that your lack of assuredness is an absolute certainty of.fact regarding the subject matter.

There are no absolutes, relatively speaking.

It worked with South Africa.

You really think that kicking SA out of Eurovision had fuck all to do with the end of apartheid?? Concomitant to that, what are odds that if Israel had been kicked out, they’d stop butchering Palestinian civilians?

Even if it did (it didn’t), it’s still wrong to punish artists for the actions of their government.

RE: Eurovision 2024
Ah, another useless demagogue is protecting us from the nonexistent problem

Quote:Erdogan called Eurovision a 'disgrace' and the contestants 'Trojan horses of social degeneration'

"One of the most obvious areas of global imposition is the politics of gender neutrality. We witnessed this on a grand scale at last week's Eurovision Song Contest. Clearly, the queer characters presented to young people are the Trojan Horses of social degeneration. Having shielded Turkey from this disgrace for the past 10-12 years, we can see that we made the right decision," the Turkish president said.

This year, for the first time, the Eurovision winner is a non-binary person. Nemo does not identify as either male or female and prefers the address "they".

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
