Thread functioning question

I have noticed that when a staff member edits a post of theirs, the read thread reverts back to unread on my end.

But when I edit a post of mine, it doesn't do the same for me. At least from my limited perspective. Perhaps my edited posts revert the thread to unread for others?

[Real possible answer: It may be becuase it's edited the system sees it as a new post and ergo you haven't read it, Why it's staff only I have no idea]
