Seasonal Sickness
Is there a time of year when your immune system is weakest?

I tend to always get sick during the summer.

When school starts. It's not that my immune system gets weak but I get exposed to more shit. Kids pass it to other kids, then to parents, then to me. Usually it's limited to rhinovirus and I can take the runny nose ok. Don't tolerate the other end getting runny very well.

Looks like it will be three pokes for me this fall, flu, covid, RSV.

Were you anywhere near Biden?

I haven't gotten sick-sick yet, but this summer has been playing with me.

RE: Seasonal Sickness
For the last few years, I've been having serious runny nose issues, and taking mass quantities of Benadryl for it. Last fall I went to the doctor because it was so bad. I was told to use Nasacort.  I wish that I had found out about it sooner. A few days on that, and my nose stopped dripping like a faucet. Now, the first time I start getting sniffles, I shoot some up my nose. I'm using 100% less Benadryl. You might consider trying Nasacort.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The thing with me it is only at home that my nose runs. Outside or at work, it doesn't. I'm thinking I have a mild allergy to cats, but it's tolerable.

I average about one cold a year, sometimes two, almost always between October and February.

When's the last time you changed the filters in your HVAC? If they have a lot of allergens in the filters, those will still be pushed out and perhaps even concentrated.

Replacement filters at HD are a few bucks apiece, and definitely worth a look if you haven't done so already. We change our filters out here in November and May because of the local trees mating schedule.

We change ours once a month. Our dogs create a lot of dander and undercoat particulates.
