JD Vance: 'We Have To Go To War' Against The Idea That Women Don't Have To Have Kids

Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick, JD Vance, said in 2021 that “we have to go to war” against the idea that women can decide not to have children, suggesting that someone who focuses on building their career instead of making babies will be “a sad, lonely, pathetic person.”

“To be a little stark about this, I think we have to go to war against the anti-child ideology that exists in our country,” said Vance, who is currently the Republican senator from Ohio.

Back to Vance and the childless cat women...my niece will be 40 this year.  She has never married and never had kids.  

Well, it seems that Vance would force your niece to become pregnant. Who knows, if he wins, maybe he organizes a special force of so-called alpha males who would go around and forcefully impregnate "childless cat ladies".

No need to touch Handmaid's Tale. He may be simply copying polish right wingers (though copying would go other way around I suppose) whose "top" ideas are unbreakable marriages or women not giving birth cause they're binge drinking*. To be more serious it seems to me that he simply borrows from past, hence the phrase I used.


*Can't find appropriate idiom. Polish original refers to kind of alcohol drinking habit that isn't used in polite company.

Back to Vance and the childless cat women...my niece will be 40 this year.  She has never married and never had kids.  She has an amazing job for a huge company in Chicago.  Makes bank.  Part of her job includes being allowed hours for community service so she helps at an animal shelter and fosters cats/kittens.

And she always has a bag packed.  There's a music festival in Colorado...or just about anywhere else, she's there.  Flies to France and other places in Europe to attend concerts.  One of her 'ride or die' friends gets 10K from an aunt every year for travel.  They call themselves Thelma and Louise.  

She's politically active, doesn't answer to anyone.  Goes where she wants to go when she wants to.  Has a man in her life if it suits her.  When that man gets pissy about her living her best life, she moves on.

I still can't find the negative in any of that...in fact, I am a little envious.

Vance's views are not just deeply offensive to women who want to live their best lives by not having children like your niece, but also deeply offensive to women who wanted to have kids but couldn't due to infertility, like my cousin.
